Questions About Our Walks?
Everything you need to know about our cliff, cave, and waterfall routes in Donegal
Our cliff and sea stack walks cover 3-4 miles at a comfortable pace with regular rest stops built in. We typically take 2.5 to 3 hours including pauses for views, photos, and catching your breath—it's not a race, it's a proper outing.
Not at all. These routes are designed specifically for older adults and pensioners—we're not looking for mountain goats here. If you can manage a 20-minute walk around town, you've got the fitness we're after. We've guided people in their 80s, and the main thing is enthusiasm, not athletic ability.
Maghery Caves have spacious chambers with good headroom in most sections—no crawling required. We skip any tight passages, and you're always with our guide who knows exactly where the stable ground is. We've had people with mobility concerns do these tours comfortably.
We reschedule if there's serious rain or wind—coastal cliffs demand respect. You'll get full notice, and we'll find a new date that works. On days with drizzle, we go ahead with proper waterproofs. Donegal weather changes fast, so we're flexible and safety comes first.
Get in touch through our contact page and we'll sort out dates and numbers. Your walk includes the guide, route planning tailored to your group's pace, and detailed knowledge of the geology and history. Bring your own packed lunch and water—we'll suggest good spots to eat along the way.
Yes, it's a different walk in a gentler valley setting, about 2 miles round trip. It's perfect if you want something more sheltered or if you're not keen on cliff edges. The approach to the waterfall is straightforward, and the setting is beautiful—ideal for a shorter afternoon outing.
